UnBroken - Who Are We?

We're on a mission to serve our Lord through sharing His Word through music.  We play originals compositions, traditional hymms, covers of Top 40 Christian songs, and even put a new spin on old favorites if it helps get the message across.  You might walk into a venue and think you're hearing a Classic Rock cover band doing Bad Company's "Can't Get Enough" and as you start tapping your foot and moving your hips, you realize the music is oh so familiar but the lyrics are giving a message that wasn't there orignally.  But what a great Christian message, huh?  "Can't Get Enough of Your Love"..... or just when you think some wanna be cover band is hacking The Clash's "Rock the Casbah" you get a smile on your face when you realize it's not the Casbah that's rocking - "Rock the Church House, Rock the Church House".......The whole point is to get His message out and if it takes ... um... deceptive tactics, what a noble purpose.  Actually, we've had a lot of fun discovering how many songs we know so well can have a Christian message with just a little massaging of the lyrics - Cheap Trick's "I Want You To Want Me" has an awesome message if you look at it THAT way...... We have fun.  We also have our renditions of your favorites by Mercy Me, Third Day, Tenth Avenue North, Chris Tomlin, Phillips Craig and Dean and all the rest.  Been trying to do Toby's rap "Lose my Soul" but it's just not in the cards... but I'll share it with you here because I love it

We may not be the best musicians, best looking, or most incredible stage performers, but what we are is sincere in what we do - He has touched all of our lives in so many ways it's the least we can do as His children is to share whatever gifts and talents we have in fellowship.

We're Non-Demoninational if you're trying to put a label on our faith - we just love Jesus and find music to be our way of sharing that love.  I'm pretty clueless about the differences between most of the demoniations and choose to remain so because I feel it's not where you go but WHY that's important and whatever label, brand or flavor is personal taste rather than "the right way".  I almost wrote a song "My Church is Better Than Your Church" (like kids taunting) after hearing a VERY biased sermon that condemned other demoninations.  Huh?   I prefer to think of a four-letter word -LOVE - and leave it at that.  "My Church" never seriously got written but a conversation with someone shortly after this experience did inspire "You Gotta Go" - there's a link on the first page, music page and below just in case you haven't heard it yet - where I was talking to someone I'd just met and church had come up.  This was a troubled young woman who needed some help and guidence in a lot of ways.  She was on the brink of making some very bad choices.  I told her that before she made any of these choices, perhaps she should go to church and pray for some help in this decision making process.  Her eyes lit up a bit and she said to me  "What's a good church to go to"?  Caught a bit off-guard, I smiled at her and said "Well, I'd start with one with a Cross"........

Music inspires and motivates and we've been fortunate to see our music touch the hearts of others - at one performance we'd done at a local church, a father who'd not been attending church with his family but more "tolerating" it, had come early to pick his family up.  We'd done a sort of rocking version of Amazing Grace - you know the one done to the music of House of the Rising Sun - and for whatever reason (only He knows for sure), this father found inspiration through that song.  A few weeks after the event, our Pastor had inquired with the other church how our performance was received and was told that this father had become a regular attendee and was asking to formally become a member of the church and he'd made a point of saying that it was something about the song that had given him the resolve to make this change in his life.  Now that's Amazing Grace, huh?  And it makes every minute of practice and every dollar of our own money we spend on this cause worth it.  The amplifiers seem a bit lighter and the late nights not so tiring.  I've tried to figure out exactly what it was that had given this man such a change of heart - it was a somewhat hokey rendition of a beautiful song if you think about it - but, perhaps it was just the fact that we'd taken that risk that caught his attention.  Or maybe it was opening a door by showing him that church doesn't have to be all choir hymms with rigid standards.  The biker with the tattoo's and 'do rag can love Jesus just as much as the matronly woman with the "church hat".  The rock and roll musician can have just a rewarding relationship with the Lord as a Pastor or spinster woman who's whole live and word revolves around church.  God is for everone and everyone is for God as long as your heart is open and your willing to take some steps in faith because God will meet you more than halfway as long as you give Him a chance and learn to give Him the credit and glory He so much deserves.

So, here's yet another link to "You Gotta Go" - because it's not about denomination, it's all about you.

We play our music out of love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  We don't ask for money or subsidy to play - if called upon and we're able, we'll be there.  We might have some T-Shirts or whatever available to purchase with any proceeds going to support our mission, but what's NOT for sale is our music - it's inspired and a gift from above so feel free to download any of our songs if you wish, reproduce them, share them, post them or whatever use you find as long as it's done to share the Glory of God.  Do you need some live music in a wholesome enviroment or are you a prison Pastor looking for a band willing to come inside the wire?  If avaialbe and possible, we'll be there - no financial requirements or requests to book us.  We do accept gifts and donations, but do not expect or require them.  At this stage in the game, we're in the Pay to Play phase, meaning it actually costs us money every time we play someplace, but that's our mission or calling or whatever you want to deem it.  That said, we are NOT opposed to donations or support of any sort as good gear is expensive, as is traveling, lodging, food and whatever else is involved in providing music.  If you have any musical gear you'd like to donate to the cause or have some other gift or offering, let us know as we'd be delighted to accept your generosity.  If anyone happens to have a cargo van or decent trailer that we could use to haul our gear in, that would be a blessing.  We've actually gone to a few gig in a Scion XB loaded until it almost burst - the only problem is having to make the tough decisions on what to take and what not to so we end up a bit handicapped as SOMETHING didn't make the show and we do like to give our best for Him when doing His work. Any support of ANY kind is appreciated, especially your prayers.
